The Halifax Brewery Market is on K’jipuktuk; unceded and unsurrendered Mi’kmaq territory. We recognize that there are many barriers one may face when considering coming to the market. If there's something we can do to make the market safer, more accessible, or more welcoming, please do let us know.

PHYSICAL BARRIERS
During market hours (Saturdays 7am-1pm) there are two staff available should assistance be required. There are two main entrances from Lower Water St. into the Upper and Lower Courtyards of the market both of which are wheelchair accessible with buttons for automatic entry. A set of steps joins the Upper Courtyard to the rest of the market making the only accessible entry to either level from the outside. The North Entrance between the Courtyard Marriott and the market building is accessible by ramp with buttons for automatic entry. This entrance leads to the Upper Courtyard.

The floors of our market are uneven and made from mixed materials.

Off the Upper Courtyard there are two gendered washrooms with 4 regular stalls each and 1 accessible stall each. Off the Lower Courtyard there are two private, gender-neutral, accessible washrooms. Change tables are located in the washrooms off the Upper Courtyard.

TRANSPORTATION
The Water Street bus terminal is a 7 min walk from the market. Bus tickets are $2.50 and a transfer lasts 3 hours.

The Cunard Lot at 1325 Lower Water St. offers free parking on Saturdays from 6am - 3pm. There is free weekend parking on Dal Sexton campus. Downtown street parking is free on Saturdays.

LANGUAGE BARRIERS
Multiple languages are spoken onsite at the market, English being the most common.

ALLERGY & SCENT SENSITIVITY
The Brewery Market is a public space and unfortunately we cannot guarantee the space is scent or allergen free.

ALCOHOL
Weekly Saturday markets have alcohol samples served and alcohol being sold for take-home consumption. Events taking place outside of market hours are occasionally licensed. We do not allow or condone the use of outside alcohol or drug substances in the space.

FREE & PWYC ENTRY
Saturday markets are always free to attend. Ticketed events always have a pay-what-you-can option. We aim to make our events accessible to everyone and to have no one turned away. We acknowledge that despite being PWYC there may still be underlying pressure to contribute financially, but please do come no matter what your financial situation may be.

SAFER SPACES
We do not tolerate discrimination or violence at the market. We strive to make the market a safe space; if there is anything we could do to make it safer for you please don’t hesitate to reach out.
