RENTAL

Our shared-use, licensed commercial kitchen space is available outside of market hours for use by small businesses and entrepreneurs looking for affordable options for food preparation.

General Information

Current availability is Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-3pm. Subject to change and expand as demand increases.

 

To rent the  kitchen, you must hold a current Food Handler’s Certificate from the government of Nova Scotia. A copy must be on file with Market Staff before using the kitchen.

Please note - our kitchen is a shared space. Common allergens are often used in the kitchen. As folks are required to bring their own equipment, cross contamination is low but not guaranteed.

INCLUDED WITH RENTAL

  • Licensed commercial kitchen prep area

  • 3-compartment sink

  • Soap, sanitizer, hot water

  • 2 handwashing sinks

  • 2 ovens with stove top and conventional oven

  • Power outlets

  • Extension cords (if applicable)


NOT INCLUDED

  • Dishware (cutlery, plates etc.)

  • Glassware 

  • Kitchen utensils (knives, cutting boards, pots, pans etcetera)

  • Fridge/freezer space 

  • Storage space

Rates

RENTAL FEES

Commercial Kitchen  

  • Standard Rate :  $35 hourly + HST

  • 3 hour package :  $100 + HST

Setup/teardown time must be included in time booked.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

Halifax Brewery Market accepts payment via e-transfer, cheque, or cash. Cheques can be made out to Halifax Brewery Farmers Market Cooperative. E-transfers can be made to info@halifaxbrewerymarket.com.

How To Book

RENTAL PROCEDURE

  1. Complete our rental request form HERE

  2. Once the details of your rental have been discussed and confirmed with market staff, carefully review the rental agreement, complete and sign, and return the agreement to us by mail, in person to market personnel during office hours, or by email.

  3. Balance due must be paid on or before the day of the rental.

  4. Please remember that the full rental (including setup, cleanup and breakdown) must be completed within the contracted rental time. Depending upon the complexity of your kitchen needs, please allow enough scheduled time for performing these tasks.
